EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Yes. I understand your frustration. The joy at seeing the including Micarta inlay in the box is quickly dashed by their brilliant move of having glued the wood inlay to the scale.

With the knife disassembled, you can flex the scale a little to get it started. Being careful not to scratch the titanium around the overlay, you can get something up under the inlay to pop it off. The glue should give all at once. (I might have used a small titanium pry tool or even just my T8 driver at the pivot hole where there was no risk of scratching anything visible.)

Depending on how you want to attach the Micarta Overlay, you might want to carefully scour away the old glue residue. You'll definitely need some adhesive since the only hardware connection is the pivot screw on one end. Somebody recommended to me the 3M double-sided tape that CRK uses for their inlays. You can cut it to size and then clamp it to cure.
Thanks so much for your detailed reply.

Special thanks to all soldiers, and families that gave the ultimate sacrifice so that we can live in this great country. I got out and about today for a short motorcycle ride..

A fellow KLR riddin' knife nut! Very cool man. I just picked up my 2006 that had been sitting at my parents house for the passed couple years. It's right outside my bedroom window, I'm putting on new brakes, tires, choke, battery and fixing my leaky front forks and then I'll be exploring all around too!
