Yea man it is kind of crazy how different steels, with different heat treats, like different sharpening methods. If I were to do this one over again I would have started with the 140 grit stone. I wasn't reprofiling it so I decided to start with 300. I think I could have got her where I wanted a little quicker going down one grit to start. My next big challenge is a PM2 in S110V. I've never sharpened it before and it is DULL. The edge is all sorts of rolled and rounded off, so that will be different than I'm used to.600 grit can get a knife very sharp. I have discovered that some steels need a higher grit finish to cut well, which confuses me. I have had some knives get stupid-sharp from my 600 grit stone. Others, not so much. I'm sure there's a bunch of science I don't know about, lol.
