Happy Micarta Monday! You'll see today's carry balanced atop these sauces from Yellowbird. That's because we did a big family taste test today with various foods. A few of these have been staples in our kitchen for years now. Now there are organic versions with different formulations and we wanted to sample them side by side. They are definitely a little different. For all but the sriracha, the organic formulations were a little bit more complex and had a little bit more heat. The sriracha was the opposite. The organic sriracha wasn't bad but it was definitely a little more bland and a little more generic in profile.

Micarta Monday once again with the MBK Old Guard. Wore out the edge working on my bathroom remodel but didn't want to do a full sharpening. A few pases per side on my Spyderco double stuff and it was popping hairs again. Really impressed with this knife so far.

It's a Blind Horse Knives 'Frontier Valley." BHK is no longer, but the same design is now offered by L.T. Wright Knives. I bought that knife new in 2013, and it continues to be one of my favorite small EDC fixed blades.
