I've come to really dislike grease in knives and change out to W10 NanoOil almost immediately unless the action is outstanding out of the box. My Russians and the Italians I've owned (sold most) all had black Militec-like gunk in 'em. My latest, Cheburkov Leader, didn't have much, but cleaning it out and re-lubing made a huge difference.I have a hard time not abandoning all my other knives to just carry my Strizh. As far as the action goes, I found cleaning the bearings/housing out of the black grease and replacing it with an oil vastly improved the action.
Great photo!
The more tame ones are excellent knives
