Whoa, the full-sized Microtechs are actually fairly beefy, eh?
Crawling around a restaurant we are about to remodel taking measurements all morning. Can’t see anything. I’ll never understand why so many restaurants paint their whole interiors black and use dim lighting.
The second most traditional knife Spyderco has ever done!

You need something more intimidating than that for the dentist and his big uniblab thingie with all that assortment of weapons and power tools they like to call ‘instruments. Yeah, they’re instruments alright, instruments of death. He’ll take one look at that and start poking holes in your face with his water jet, just for starters. They’re a sadistic bunch.
The Chief is one of my all time favorite knives. That’s why I have one in Rex45 as well! The second most traditional knife Spyderco has ever done!
Haha, we build/remodel a lot of restaurants. Most of them are filthy. Even the higher end ones. The worst I’ve ever seen are the green and yellow National sandwich sandwich shops. The stories I've heard from folks who've worked in that industry (food service), I understand full well why they do it!
I live in South Carolina, so I’m familiar with humidity! My knives are more tool steel than stainless and I’ve never really had any issues with regular maintenance. Even carrying IWB.They'd prefer you just look at your own table and the ambiance, no need to take a squinting look, in their minds
T Teddy1985 I am only becoming acquainted with it, but my recent penchant for USA-made backlocks, plus the size on this has me falling in love with it!
I "only" have it in CTS-XHP, but I am enjoying it immensely and like the easy upkeep. It has been hot and humid here lately so I need a decently stainless steel, and this has been a godsend for me lately along with my Yojumbo (Shaman in M4? Police 4 in K390? Not this week!). Glad to have it. I do have it's little brother, the Native 5 LW, in Rex 45, so that is cool.
The fly calls out panfish. Did you have any luck?
Same here, that's why I have K390 and M4 as some of my main carries! Just these last days here, unbearable, I am sure my sweat woulda rusted them this time, but normally, I work, sweat, do anything with tool steels. They're the superior kind in my opinion! At least for me and my EDC.I live in South Carolina, so I’m familiar with humidity! My knives are more tool steel than stainless and I’ve never really had any issues with regular maintenance. I will probably pick up a Chief in stainless though at some point. Waiting for LC200N or Magnacut at some point.
How is the action on this? I like the look, but heard some of the others had weak detents.
