Yes it is a slip joint. Tinus Stone does not use pins in any of his knives. His words " I swedge the frame work then glue the covers on". I had to ask for nail nick, he does not like them to ruin the lines of his blades.
He said he has had no failures yet with pivots or scales

So I’m assuming you recommend his work? Do you have any other pieces? Any ways sure is pretty.

Thanks, I do like his work. Very affordable ( $270- $300) and 2 weeks to have one made. He only uses N690 steel though.
Built like a tank. These are all custom except one.
