EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

So yesterday I finished up the fitting/soldering jig for my current sheetmetal project to make the post boots interspersed between the longer runs of copper flashing for the water table along one side of my client's remodeling project. At that pointI was still carrying the HAP40 Police I posted last time.

Today, for no particular reason, I pocketed my 3.5" XM18 and was back and forth between the two shops, cleaning up some overdue odds and ends, organizing a few things, and sketching and fine-tuning the layouts for both the lineal stock and post boots.

I'm not much of a Steel Flame fan, but something about the Dragon etching on this, my first Hinderer, spoke to me, along with the bronze filler, OTS, and standoffs, when I saw this knife on the Exchange, and I've become increasingly fond of it as the years have passed.

With another rainy, chill, and dreary day here I fed the Russian fireplace which loads in the basement adjacent to the sheetmetal shop, slaying another bunch of remaindered cardboard boxes to send skyward along with several oak and softwood conflagrations. While I generally tend toward thinner, slicier blades and am not a huge fan of the RHK Spanto, I was pleasantly surprised at how efficiently this one zipped through a bunch of corrugated. It has benefitted greatly from a significant re-profiling from its factory edge, dropping to about 18 DPS and holding that angle broadly all the way through the Spanto shoulder and on to the tip. Rick's version of S35VN takes a wicked keen edge too and has held up very well for some time.
