EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Sent'r a little too hard in the mud. The AK-47 pulled me out though.

Harvesting some fresh sweetcorn to give away for Christmas. The Ontario has really great thin geometry. It's almost like a large paring/fillet knife. Works great for lopping off worm-damaged tips.

Looks just a wee bit stuck.
Fresh sweet corn at Christmas, this Northern Redneck from the deep south would be smiling ear to ear and my northern family would not know what to think

A day away from christmas break!

Renewed my Gold Membership today and it just so happened to be the 3rd year anniversary of me joining Bladeforums officially by creating an account too. I used to lurk without an account for a while before that. I’m happy to support a great platform for us knife nuts. Its the best space to talk knives online!

Yeah, it's still there haha. Broken pride luckily is the only damage.

I try to grow patches of sweetcorn that nick up with holidays to give back to my community. Not exactly cost effective, but reputation is important to me, as well as my neighbors.

Merry Christmas!

I am not sure why I hadn't bought a 6 for so long. It's a nice size for a wide range of things. I used it to chop some 3 inch wide invasive trees that were hanging over a farm trail. The coating and edge held up very, very well. No rolls or chips at all.

This pic is from the day after, and once I scrubbed the dirty scales and blade it cleaned up awesome. Pretty tough coating!

Understand and am sure your community appreciates your gifts and generosity.
Merry Christmas to you too.

Thank you sir. The sunflower business has really taken off due to the Ukraine war. While it is awful what's happening over there, we are grateful for the uptick in business and ability to create local jobs and economy.

I finally set my newly re-scaled 550 aside this morning but picked up another Griptilian from the top of the Benchmade box. This one's a 552 Ritter in M390 with Wilkins coarse G10 black scales and a blood-red butt spacer.

I spent the afternoon in the sheetmetal shop digging into my current project and finally getting it completed in time to make dinner as J returned from shopping up-Cape.

It's a shame Wilkins stopped making aftermarket grips for Benchmade and others after so many years. I only have one set on a 154CM Tanto Griptilian, and that is all I have.

It is a shame as his scales just totally re-invent the Griptilian and make a good knife great. Basically, Kevin's market for his scales just dried up and it didn't make financial sense for him to keep making more if they weren't moving at a pace that justified the time he put into them. Most custom scale makers, working one set at a time can't make a living at it as a full-time gig, and we've seen a number of them go down in flames. Kevin's business model ran to only selling what he pre-made and had in stock, and with cheaper alternatives for pre-made Griptilian scales out there he had to move on and expand his knife making.

I never went for a swimming pool green set, but those look good on your tanto. He does still have a few sets left and they're on sale for a couple more weeks.

I looked at the store today on my iPhone and the page didn't load - I thought that meant they were all gone.

I figured it out - ordered black aluminum and red G10. Thanks, I saved 54 Euros using the discount code that ends Jan 8th. I thought about Coyote with bronze, but really only want to swap scales on a couple more of my Griptilians. Mine are a neon green - the pool green just wasn't doing it for me. I also have a set of marbled Carbon Fiber scales to install on one of them.
