Happy New Year friends! I've always loved New Year's day, and being southern the traditional meal always brings back fond memories for me. Rolled out of bed this morning, fixed my coffee, and fried up a mess of bacon to save the grease as one of the secret ingredients to the collard greens I would be making for dinner (the other secret ingredient being simmering them in wine and chicken stock rather than water). For the rest of the day I just hung out with the young'uns, watched football, listened to some music, and tended to the food. Made some pulled pork and of course black-eyed peas to accompany the greens. Some local Bourbon (port finished) and grapes for dessert.

Here's to a great year ahead!

I must say, the rest of last night's bubbly pairs well with this morning's bacon

Absolutely love me some Trappies peppers, have them more often than not with dinner , nice Spyderco too

bigolegator 's pic of his S90V KW exclusive last week got me thinking about mine and I decided to make this a Millie Monday Morning. I was tempted to matclh B's earlier carry as that frame lock is excellent, but went with the green G10 204P liner lock for no particular reason. I've also got the S30V fluted Ti frame lock and there Isn't a bad choice amongst those three anyway.

Been sick the past two or three days, but finally feeling somewhat normal again today. Last day before kids go back to school and it’s 68 degrees, so we have been spending the day at the park.
