Got my first back curved knife.
PS: any good quality back-curved models are also recommended?

Definitely want to brush up on your mushroom identification before putting that knife to good use. Some curve back (hawkbill) knives that have caught my eye and sometimes my wallet have been the Cold Steel Tiger Claw, Spyderco Tasman, Honey Badger Claw, and the Opinel Traditional #10 Billhook.
When I was younger my primary bushcraft fire starting technique was a can of gas, but things have changed a lot. Mostly the price of gas.

I feel for you, brother. Bummer when you lose a good knife. Lost a 940 a while back and still find myself poking around the apartment looking for it, though I'm sure I lost it elsewhere. Now I'm way more conscious of where my EDC is at all times.
Usually all it takes is one loss and lesson learned . I lost my first spyderco many years ago and I still have the empty box in my drawer as a friendly reminder .
