EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Cleaning the pantry produces unexpected results.

I took apart my Inkosi today for the first time in nearly a year. It's incredible how well made this knife is. Everything is still rock solid. It has the smoothest action of any knife I've ever handled. The lock up is exactly where it was when I got it. It's sure seen plenty of action over the last year. I couldn't be more impressed.

I took advantage of yesterday's break in what seems an incessant amount of rain here to fill the back of my wife's Frontier (much easier loading in and out than my F350) with framing scrap from my friend and client's remodeling job. Stoked along with split hardwood, two-by spruce and fir are excellent fuel for our masonry-mass heater as the extended smoke path over its firebox makes for complete combustion with negligible creosote build-up in the chimney flue. With apologies to our friend M maxjeg , to whom I still owe some pics, our non-traditionally constructed Russian fireplace is a great complement to our propane-fired hot-air system, radiating for many hours after a series of fires have long gone out.

The job site pile was pretty wet and I pulled back the Frontier's tonneau to let it dry out some in this afternoon's rare sunshine after last night's deluge moved off northward. There's another load to be had and I should get this in the woodshed after another day or so drying to make room for the rest.

Here's a few closer-up pics of the Southard Performance Series Tolk I'm carrying today.
