Back at it like a crack addict

My posts are likely to get a bit repetitive this month, as I'm carrying only the same knives I brought with me (obviously), and my plan is to fit all of my work and obligations into the weekends when the waterways are full of boats, then do pretty much the same thing every weekday when there's hardly anyone out. Get up, get coffee, paddle, go home and rinse my gear, grill alternating days of surf and turf (on a bed of or with a side of super greens respectively), fruit and whiskey on the back porch as the sun goes down, enjoy whatever the evening and nights bring, repeat. Simple but perfect.

One great thing about the spot that I launch from is that it's on a barrier island, so just across the street on the other side of the lagoon is the beach. Always nice to finish a day of paddling and go cool off by splashing in the waves.

Tonight it was surf (snapper).

HAHA! Right? It's only Benchmade that I seem to have this problem with. They always have a number and then also names that all seem similar (especially the Hunt series). In my mind this one is just my little Benchmade fixed blade. I can't tell you how many times I have to use Google to find out the name of my own knife

Finally, a week here, and I get out on the water for a bit. Mosquito Lagoon, right on the edge of Canaveral National Seashore. Water was crystal clear today, and teeming with life as always.

When I grilled my steak last night I had an extra filet, so I saved it for today to make steak sandwiches. The Benchmade WhatnotOrOtherRiverOrCanyonOrSomethingWhatever made short work of slicing it nice and thin.

I'm not sure what to name the resulting cheesesteak sandwich, but it's definitely not a Philly. Much better than a Philly...Hmmm...Let's call it a ...

And of course, dessert watching the sun set on the back porch
