I know you're familiar with where I live, B. My unclear point was that, while NE is not exactly a bastion of of Yiddish culture, growing up in NJ one is is inevitably immersed in it despite one's ethnicity. The farther one travels North in the Northeast the more white-bread/boiled-potato things become.
