EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

If exiting a sports car didn’t require me to place one hand on the ground, one hand on the door sill….pull myself far enough out of the seat to let gravity do its thing and dump me on the asphalt….I’d be driving something along these lines too.

Trust me, there’s just no way to make that move look cool.

I know this because I had a short-lived obsession with the new Corvette. Outta curiosity, I stopped by the dealer to see if there was any chance my bad leg/knee/back would allow me to actually get in it. It was rough, and I should’ve bailed right then and there….but I eventually managed to get in the seat.

Getting out was about as embarrassing as shit gets. I did something between a “tuck and roll” and a geriatric face plant….all the while insisting I didn’t need any help. I basically just spilled out onto the showroom floor.

After assuring the staff I was absolutely fine and retrieving my shoe from the footwell, all I could think to say was “Well, I guess that’s gonna rule out the Ferrari and Lamborghini too.”

So these days I’m strictly a lifted truck guy, much easier for me to get in and out. I still drool over a pic like this…..but I had to take my midlife crises in a different direction.

Wow. Sorry folks, my ramblings kinda went way off the “knife” tracks here.
If it makes you feel any better I also sometimes use the one hand on the door sill trick . Makes exiting much easier and cuts the odds down of getting any shoe scuffs on the door sill 😆 or scuffs on the headliner with my head😬. It also enables me to do the tuck and roll 🤣
EDIT:
Here’s my hand rail to boot 🤣
I assure you there is no marks just reflections throughout the process 🙈🙉 🙊
