After years of collecting and using, I finally got myself a legit chopper!
Contacted @hellize about a set of knives…rustic and viking-like. He nailed it. “Rough” around the edges and just as I envisioned them. Wenge scales and the smaller one is tapered tang and a swedge! Mmmmhmmm! Lol.

I also have a smaller version on the way as well. (4” blade)
Szilard is easy to work with and has an old world charm to his knives…a puuko may be next.

Throwback Thursday with an old GT Knives auto, the axial locking mechanism in the pivot is really slick and the handle milling still holds up to today's knives!

Did you go with OEM replacement springs or aftermarket?

I went aftermarket. They are easier and quicker to get here in Canada. Sad to say.
The aftermarket ones feel a tad stronger, which I like.
Time will tell if they are any better than the OEM’s.
