So we know what namesake day it is and I needed a work knife in my pocket (if I can actually make myself do any today), so I was naturally led to something that evokes our friend jfk1110
. This was my first Griptilian which originally wore tan Noryl scales and was bought as a self-birthday-present at our local feed&grain/outdoor supplier in Vermont. The scales are OD Igorded's which appear more tan than green in these pics due to the background and lighting, though, as their appearance does vary somewhat situationally.
I'm not the biggest fan of serrations and my relationship with coated blades is somewhat mixed and hesitant, but this one was a frequent work user back in the day and I've been comfortable using it hard for a long time. It's actually held up quite well for all its use over the years. I'll also add that, despite its currently pedestrian reputation, I like 154CM quite well for its toughness and ease of sharpening to a very keen edge, making it a good choice for a work knife blade.
Cheating a bit...
Forgot I even had this laminated ZDP-189 Baby Jess Horn. It's never been carried and thought I'd change that today, just too nice though so I'll put it back in the box. Some Spyderco collector will appreciate this one someday.
