Yeah, they've been the wood pile for years. We see them in the yard, and I run across their skins when hauling wood in for the stove. We must have a nest of garter snakes under the shed too, because I'm always seeing them around there. I let them alone.

Now those nasty water snakes in the creek beside the house are another matter altogether. Unless they all get exterminated every Spring, they eat all the frogs & small fish. .38 Special birdshot works on them. At least, that's what I'd use if the fish commission didn't say it was illlegal to shoot them.:)
