EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Tuesday Kenobi Ti day

This was all set to be a long, texty post with some meh pics shot in the basement shop this AM while it was dark and raining this morning. The shorter version is I ended up carrying my Wilson Combat Les George Eagle after mentioning recurves here yesterday responding to Sharp & Fiery Sharp & Fiery 's compliments on my Firetac, then discovered the Eagle's CTS-XHP 15 DPS re-profiled edge was micro-chipped and rolled, searched the internet to find its hardness, and discovered my own almost two-year-old post here on how it had resisted just that after re-profiling.🤷‍♂️ Anyway, I broke out the rarely used SharpMaker as it's less involved and messy than the EdgePro, added a micro-bevel, and re-polished the edge somewhat on the extra-fines. Here's an earlier basement pic that didn't come out too bad...

...and here's one from upstairs after the edge repair followed by replacing the lanyard that was dirtier than it looked above, using a very different Eagle to trim the cord, and the digital caliper just to compare TBTE between the two, though both have been re-profiled. Les George is 0.68mm, Al Mar ZDP-189 is 0.5mm.

The sun's come out for a bit, so here's some better pics, this one showing the micro-bevel...

...and another of today's Ti Tuesday carry.

Turned out kinda long anyway, though more pic- than text-heavy.

Let's continue today's adventures. After work, I drove to Tkachi Street. For more than a hundred years, the largest weaving factory in St. Petersburg was located here. Now destroyed. But that's not what's interesting.

The red building in the photo is the first city hostel for workers in Russia. 1874-75 years of construction. For 15-20% of the salary, the worker received a bed in a room. They lived 3-4 people in one room. The first communist revolutionaries began their activities here. Here, in 1898, the largest clash between the workers and the police took place at that time.

After the revolution, the factory became the property of the state and the hostel too. And in 1928, a new residential area was built for the workers of the weaving factory on the same street.

Yellow buildings in the photo. And all the working families were able to get their own apartments.

For the same 15-20% of wages. And after 25 years, the apartment became the property of the family.

Separately, I will write that the yellow houses were built in my favorite architectural style - constructivism. :)

I enjoy your pictures very much!!! Pre Soviet Russian history has always interested me... Some awesome architecture... Thank you much for sharing your days and blades!!!

Todays carry.

It’s pretty hot here and the Chili plants aren’t loving the AZ heat and sun. Had to add a manual watering session on top of the 2 automatic ones the timer does.

That’s crazy, I’m not a gardener, but I would think the heat wouldn’t affect them so much. Needing water, yes of course we all need that 😁

Sheesh, I’ll probably have my membership revoked for confessing this….but I left the house today without pocketing a knife. Forgot a few other items as well.

Anyway, had to call my truck knife up to the show today. RMJ Tactical “Sparrow” credited for the Monday save.

Where did you get the Sparrow? I've been eyeballing one, but trying to find one has been proving very difficult. Looks like a perfect "truck knife" to me.
