So this knot is what’s known as a blood knot. You cut a slit in the leather and weave it through. It look’s especially nice on knives like this one that have a “hidden lanyard” cutout holeHow do you make your lanyards it looks interesting![]()
Thanks I’ll have to try that out!So this knot is what’s known as a blood knot. You cut a slit in the leather and weave it through. It look’s especially nice on knives like this one that have a “hidden lanyard” cutout hole
Great pic and carry set as usual, K! I had to search that knife, starting by scrolling through WE's product pages, to find that bar along the top was indeed the locking mechanism and then following up to see how it operated. How's that spine clip work out, especially for tip up, as it strikes me it would tend to turn in pocket with the blade spine facing forwards.
Let's continue today's adventures. After work, I drove to Tkachi Street. For more than a hundred years, the largest weaving factory in St. Petersburg was located here. Now destroyed. But that's not what's interesting.

The red building in the photo is the first city hostel for workers in Russia. 1874-75 years of construction. For 15-20% of the salary, the worker received a bed in a room. They lived 3-4 people in one room. The first communist revolutionaries began their activities here. Here, in 1898, the largest clash between the workers and the police took place at that time.

After the revolution, the factory became the property of the state and the hostel too. And in 1928, a new residential area was built for the workers of the weaving factory on the same street.

Yellow buildings in the photo. And all the working families were able to get their own apartments.

For the same 15-20% of wages. And after 25 years, the apartment became the property of the family.

Separately, I will write that the yellow houses were built in my favorite architectural style - constructivism.![]()
Do you sleep, or get up really early?Another two-fer Tuesday, although it’s a little awkward carrying both around the neck, the Carter has a nice pocket sheath. Problem solved

Ever since I retired my internal clock has been thrown off, get up around 2-3, read, cruise the garden, get a cup of coffee and post the picture of the day. Nap time around 1 in the afternoon, bed around 9, rinse and repeat.Do you sleep, or get up really early?
