Wow, that Jason Clark stopped me dead in my tracks. Absolutely beautiful! I have a hard time telling some of his models apart….which one is that? Thanks.View attachment 2261204

The Chou is a smaller knife than I thought it would be. Very thin and light. I have just been slipping it in my pocket in the kydex sheath it came with. It came sharp, and is a handy little knife.
Zeroedin,
Not encroaching at all and thanks for the mention! Great prop! My guess is you went to see, "A Girl With A Custom Knife". I heard it's a great movie! It certainly is a GREAT knife. Stay safe, Joe (not Dave, but how would you know that from my moniker...birdave is the street I grew up on as a kid...Bird Ave.).
Looks like this is a Model 2.Wow, that Jason Clark stopped me dead in my tracks. Absolutely beautiful! I have a hard time telling some of his models apart….which one is that? Thanks.
And the Chou is a sexy little number as well. I’ll have to look for a pic of the sheath, don’t recall ever seeing one.
Very nice, very special Ellis!Looks like this is a Model 2.

Easy to carry knife. The bearing action is incredibly smooth and fast to flip open. The attention to detail is what I appreciate on this one. Locks solid, no lock stick. Smooth and fun to flip open.

The Chou is pretty sweet. I have already had to sharpen it after opening quite a few boxes yesterday. A leather honing wheel is working really well for touching up these Rockstead knives. Here is the sheath it was supplied with.

I know I'm digging this up from over a month ago, but is that a deka on the left? And if so, is that a Glow Rhino axis bar? If it is, which size is it? I'm trying to customize my Deka I just got but can't find any info on which size would fit it since they only show BM equivalents. Also, where did you get the colored screws and thumbstud?
This is a stock version from Hogue. Yes, it is a tritium insert. It's amazing. Look up Hogue collectors series to find one. The cf and fit and finish is on par with the 940-1, and I know that's a pretty high mark.I know I'm digging this up from over a month ago, but is that a deka on the left? As always, great photography and fascinating history lesson. Maya is fortunate to have a father who spends quality time with her. Thanks for sharing.Vyborg, Saturday.
For the weekend, my daughter and I went to the city of Vyborg. It is located 80 miles from Petersburg. An hour in a commuter train,

and here we are on the embankment with longships.

This city is called the most European city in Russia. Three stages can be traced in the architectural sights of Vyborg.
The first is the late Middle Ages.
The city was founded by Swedish knights in 1293.
![]()
They built a castle and several stone dwellings.
![]()
This settlement is overgrown with various trade, craft and religious parts. In the 14-16 centuries, many stone houses were erected, town halls and cathedrals appeared. The houses in the photo are 400-500 years old.
![]()
There are two sights in the photo.
![]()
Clock tower and ruins of a 15th century Catholic cathedral. The cathedral was destroyed by Soviet aircraft during World War II.
![]()
And of course the Vyborg Castle itself.

Now there are restoration work going on, so the photo is only from the outside.

The second stage is Northern Modern.
According to the results of the Northern War in 1710, Vyborg became part of the Russian Empire. It becomes a frontier fortress. And after the last Russian-Swedish war of 1808-1809, Sweden transfers part of its eastern lands to the Russian Empire as a ransom. And Emperor Alexander the First signs a manifesto on the creation of the Grand Duchy of Finland. The future state of Finland. The next emperor, Nicholas the First, in the 1840s, introduces Finnish-language education in schools and colleges on the territory of the future Finland. Finnish is declared the state language along with Russian and Swedish. By the 1860s, Vyborg actually became the industrial capital of the Principality of Finland.

Many large companies move there.

The dawn of the Northern Modern begins in Vyborg.
Here is the entrance to the building of Hackman, a well-known company in the knife community.

And here is the building of the Finnish merchant bank.

The third stage is Constructivism.
In 1917, the Russian Empire ceases to exist, and a civil war begins in Russia. The British land their troops in the north, in Arkhangelsk. The joint Anglo-French fleet besieges Odessa and Sevastopol, the German Volunteer Army occupies the Baltic states, the Japanese land in Manchuria, and the American troops in the Far East. Everyone wants a little skin from a wounded bear, and they all underestimated the size of this country. And Finland declares itself independent within the boundaries of the very manifesto of Alexander the First. Vyborg becomes a Finnish city. New factories,

power stations

are being built there, trams are appearing, government buildings.

Alvar Aalto builds his famous Scandinavian style library.

The children's art school was also built in this style.

On this, the first day can be considered completed. In the evening, if I have the strength, I will show you the Monrepo State Park.
