Awesome background.
Not no, but heck no. I will climb 20 up a tree for deer hunting, but a lift does me in.
that lift is extremely jumpy as well. Has a lot of play/sway when you let off the controls
⬆️ is why I am not a fan of lifts

You and I are complete opposites! 🤣 I hate ladders so much I refuse to even purchase one. However, I will absolutely go 90ft up in a man lift no problem!
Doesn't help that a couple decades ago a friend that is like a brother and I had a120' fully extended climbing onto the top of a tank to fix a level transmitter and when I stepped out of the basket, it bounced. I fell but had a death grip on the basket and the harness lanyard worked. That was the last time I was in a lift

Yep, that'd do it! Sounds like a terrifying experience to say the least! Glad your lanyard and death grip worked! You'd be surprised how many people get in the basket and forget to actually clip the lanyard to the anchor point!

They don’t bother me too much. Was on one 60ft in the air a little while back. Not that one would definitely move in the wind pretty substantially. That was only 15 foot or so today. The older I get the more they bother me tho.

I had a buddy who was terrified of heights. I didn’t know it. We were on a lull with a platform lift and weren’t high at all. Maybe 8-10 feet. I look down and he’s crouched down white knuckle gripping and couldn’t get up. That’s when he told me he was scared of heights and lifts. But he could get on scaffold and not have a problem. Made no sense to me

I’ve done it many of times. Go to get off and unclip it and then realize I never even clipped it to begin with

That’d have me a little gun shy as well

I've done it a few times. Never a good feeling when you realize that! There was a guy a few years ago that tried to go 90ft up with no harness. I shut that idea down real fast. Everyone was passed but whatever!
That high it just makes me feel a little better mentally to be harnessed off. Once I start to get over 30 foot I notice the height more

30ft is pretty normal for when I go up. I start noticing about 60ft. At 90ft that basket has a lot of swing and its really obvious how high you are. And I usually need a knife when I go up that high. So there's always one hand on the rail and a knife in the other while I'm working. Therefor, I have this thing as a dedicated man basket knife!

Spent the past 4-5 days getting aquatinted with a new JD van Deventer Mini Gold. This one features Curly Maple Burl inlays…

This new arrival lets me run with a “South African Sibling Sunday” theme as it pairs well with an earlier custom JD made for me:

I’ve got one more on the books I’m really looking forward to receiving from JD. This “trifecta” piece will have a completely different (and hopefully very unique) material selection.
