Clay
I bought this knife new from an outdoor store on a clearance day back in 2009 or 2010. It was my first CRK and it has been carried quite a bit. For a couple years, it was my only EDC knife. The pivot is very smooth, but it does loosen up some with use. I made a tool out of a small key years ago to tighten the pivot, as I never did find the correct CRK tool. I know there have been several “improvements” in the steel used by CRK since, but the S35 in this one works just fine. I have found it is easy enough to sharpen to a mirror finish if wanted, or just to touch up after work. The pocket clip lost some spring tension over time, but a few minutes with some pliers during a cleaning got it back where I needed it. This would be the last of my modern folders I would sell.O-Rings or not, I'm happy to see someone else packing the older style Zaan!
Lock up pics below. It has always locked up beyond center of the blade, which I attributed to the pocket clip pushing on the lock bar, but I now notice it may be locking even further than it used to. No lock stick at all. I’ll update with lockup pictures after adding the new o-rings from Clay to see if they make any difference. That's awesome! How's lock up without them? Can I see a pic?
That ain't bad at all! Damn. It really doesn't even need o rings lol that gives me peace of mind for sure. Thank you kindly.Thank you, Clay! Not necessary, but I do appreciate the gesture and will put them on when they arrive.

Where I live if you see a cicada you immediately start searching for the copperhead that‘s looking to dine on it.
Meanwhile, terrific knife!![]()
Copperheads love those cicadas. Keep an eye out. Had one crawl up on our patio one night and coiled up under the wife’s rocking chair. Yep, it bit her when she sat down.
