EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Ok I have to be honest I was never a Boy Scout but I do like New York Steaks and Jasmine rice smothered in Tillamook Sweet cream butter :D

The thing with that backspacer is it seems so out of place on the knife, which otherwise has such a handsome, classic design. I don't object to orange in any way either, as I have a pretty fair number of orange-scaled knives, but, adding insult to injury, there's something about the texture, finish, and color tone of that particular backspacer that I find really unappealing. By contrast, I do like the slight accent of the orange pivot collar on the knife.

That Shiro in the same post is a Hati, rather than an F3, and I'm very pleased with its milled orange G10 scales. Curiously, it also has a matching G10 backspacer, and while it doesn't strike me as out of place, I do plan to eventually replace it either with a large Shiro standoff, because I prefer open-back construction, or a Ti version of the same backspacer, just for a different look.

U may wanna try to use a soft metal coin to screw the screw and not screw it.

I posted pics of this one elsewhere this morning, so I guess I'll just go with my StarTac today. :) Here he is along with his brother StarBenza 25 in a file photo from our deck in Vermont. (Got a few rainy days in a row here on-Cape, so it's likely there'll be no fresh pics for a bit.)

How his blade finish looks so flat and cleaner than sebenza? Only knife with such cleaned out after grinding and stonewashed after blade that comes up on mind to compare is shiro

I'll be the second lately to state here you've got a good eye, filtrum, and you're right about using something softer and tight-fitting on those Shiro Pac-Man screws. That's actually the seller's pic from when I bought the knife a couple years back, so that's the way I got it. I'm at least the 4th owner, bought it at a very favorable price as a user, and have since cleaned up the screws considerably along with getting the action right.

I've bought a number of high end knives as users, getting a good price on an excellent piece and I can put it right to work without having to worry about marking it up.

Edit: The screws won't ever be like new again, but they're fine for the knife's uses and there's other things to spend money on other than new hardware for a knife with a scuffed blade.
