EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Man I luv the Manix 2 in all verions. But really enjoy the lightweight FRCP scaled spy27 model. I used to have the G-10 version and I didn't like how much it weighed.

Yeah , the ergos are among the best I’ve ever experienced. I have yet to try out a light weight version (although I’d like to). But the G10 variant has been a favorite of mine for years.

The G-10 version is 5.2oz
The lightweight version is 2.9oz.
And I can definately tell the differance. I rarely wanted to carry the heavy 5.2oz knife. And at 2.9oz the lightweight is just that, lightweight!

I must confess that I didn't actually carry the Boomascus 31 today, except for briefly in its slip, as I really just got it out to torment our friend Kettleman Kettleman , and that just in fun. (Note to K-man: you did mention a Dama PJ as your final CRK, so perhaps there's some hope for that, as around here referring to one's last knife just means the most recent purchase.)

Anyway, most of today was spent battening down the hatches and stowing outdoor things away in the face of the passage of Hurricane Lee. It won't hit us directly, its eye blowing by some hundreds of miles out to sea, but we'll still get a bunch of rain and wind gusts up in the 50's. For that task, a hard use work knife that I'm not afraid to bang up was more appropriate and my ZT 0801BW fit that bill well, though a CRK is certainly stout enough to take anything you throw at it. My visiting middle son gave me a hand cleating down some temp cover on the last unfinished part of the roof and I'm glad to be back down now and comfortably ensconced in the house.

Be safe my friend. And thanks for the encouragement!

Screebo Screebo I keep meaning to ask you about your little feathered friend, although ironically he/she hasn’t been present in your last two posts. Hate to derail the thread, and apologies if it’s been covered before, but what’s its name? What type of bird? How long have you had it…..and how old is it?

I clearly know nothing about pet birds but have always been curious, and every time I see him/her lounging with you I get the impression it’s a pretty tight bond between the two of you….so any insight/info is appreciated. Kinda feel like I know everyone else’s dogs, cats, squirrels, birds and chipmunks…but I must’ve been absent the day your bird was introduced.

And no worries about steering the train astray. I saw somewhere that today was officially dubbed “Feathered Friday”…so bird-talk is deemed thread-relevant and permitted under Article 62(L) of the Forum Bylaws (anyone who’s skeptical can look it up. I wouldn’t make this crap up).

Lol, and thanks in advance.
