EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

My Factory Second Manix 2 in S110V just landed yesterday afternoon.

I think the flaw is that the factory edge grind is too steep, as the Sharpmaker doesn’t even come close to giving a micro bevel on its 40° setting. It’s definitely not the usual 36° factory grind I’m used to from Spyderco.

Gonna have to hit it with the coarse diamond rods or DME sharpener while I watch football this Sunday. For now, it just has what we like to call “a working edge”.

This is my first knife in S110V, and I like that it has great edge retention AND corrosion resistance. (at the expense of sharpenability and toughness)

I’ve missed having a Manix 2 in the collection; it’s an ergonomic masterpiece by ol’ Eric Glesser.

Went on a hike to a spot new to us yesterday, first up to an Alpine lake, then to an old fire lookout above. It's located on the outskirts of Mt. Rainier National Park, and while it was only about an hour from the house, half of that drive was up old dirt roads before entering the edge of the park boundaries.

From the lake you can see the lookout (circled in red) above.

it’s the only way we can integrate the new with the old. The customer gets what they want hahaha
Unbelievable considering that the newer SC or LC connectors are
- much cheaper
- have a much better performance
- a higher density
and are more or less always available without lead time to consider

But of course if that’s the s… the customer wants…

It’s been years since I’ve been to the Lookout. If you would’ve driven up there yesterday, you would’ve driven right past me as I was up by Mowich lake.
