I'm with you guys on that. I know a lotta members here like their Bugouts and other newer models, but most of what BMK has come out with in quite a few years just kinda leaves me cold. Benchmade is still making the Griptilian, a model I have several of (all but an upscale one are fitted with aftermarket scales) and I do like my Crooked River, but their pattern of discontinuing most of their best older models is disappointing. I guess they feel that they've reached market saturation with those and it's not worth the production time to still sell a few. So much of modern manufacturing is like that--come up with something new to spur sales and dump all the old tried and true.

I'm glad I still have my AFCKs, 710s, and Strykers among other classic BMKs and went with my 806-1101 while I cleaned up the woodshop, putting stuff away from yesterday's tasks, and worked there a little today (making a new mess along the way). I still had a lot of tape gunk on my 710 from yesterday, cleaned that up early, and kept it with me too, clipped in my back pocket. Two oldies but goodies in the shop...

Man I really love the Civivi Odium designed by Farrum Forge. It truly has stunning good looking lines.
