EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Don't do it man.
Do NOT listen to the Sirens calling you to the rocks. Mirror polishes are only good for social media pics of unused knives ;-)

Beautiful knife there.

I really appreciate all the Love I get here.... I do.

But we all take pride in our tools/knives.
I Do want them to look good, too.
I want people to not have to talk around how ugly they look

With some knives I can't help with some scratches. Martin's was made out of HSS treated up to 66hrc. It's Crazy F'in Hard. I can't reasonably get all those scratches out.
But when I made his, I didn't have my disk grinder.
I was proud of his knife when I made it, even though it looks like a beaver chewed it out of steel. *edited to add that I'm Still proud of his knife (and All of my knives) just a part of developing as a maker. woodysone woodysone

This one is Gorgeous.
Though it's "only" 62HRC, so a bit softer
These are the scratches.
They look Worse in the picture. That's how it always is..... It's hard to hide scratches in a photo

*This is just primary grind, I Don't have my edge ground yet, or clean up, etc

Check out how Crisp my bevel is.
It's Really clean. If somebody wanted it as is I'm cool with it, but when it looks This good, those tiny, tiny scratches stick out like a sore thumb! :/

(And now, if I get them all out, I'll Have to price this into another category) which I don't want to be a fancy maker......

I typically hike during the week and avoid crowds, but when the wife asks to head out on a weekend I can never resist. Hiked her favorite trail out on Rainier. Fewer knife pics and an easier trail than than normal, but a great day nonetheless.

The dive tavern in a tiny mountain town that we always hit on our way out. We've long since learned not to order any food here, but the beer is decent, and the place as a whole is all-around delightful. The trip isn't complete without a stop here

Awesome scenery. Looks very relaxing and peaceful

It absolutely was. I've crossed over this spot on the river while driving a couple dozen times, but I've always had somewhere to be that kept me from stopping. Luckily this day I had an extra 15-20 minutes to spare, so I figured I'd stop and check the place out. Ended up walking down the river for a couple of miles and spending over an hour there ;)
