EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Do you have a Malibu? If so, how do the Malibu and Mordax compare?

I own both and can chime in here. The malibu does have a noticeably crispier break when deploying than the mordax. I would say like a stronger detent, except button locks don't have a traditional detent, but it is more satisfying and a definite improvement. I prefer that aspect, the lower tip of the malibu, and overall feel its a little more refined, but both are nice. The malibu feels ground a little thinner also.

This is more about the sheaths, but yes the SOCP is in my pocket now. The Brisa Nessmuk is the go to knife whenever I take a trip to the forest, if I know there will be camping, food prep or starting a fire. I was not happy with the original sheath of the nessmuk and ordered a custom sheath from a maker I know, I have ordered several sheaths from him and never been disappointed. The blade shape of the nessmuk was a problem, but he solved it by leaving one side of the sheath partially open and installing a retention strap with a snap tab. This works really well. Frankly it might have been overkill, because the material and workmanship is so good that the sheath holds the knife even without the strap. It has dangler that also is very good.

The small SOCP knife had a good sheath as it was, but I really can't understand what Benchmade was thinking about the handle, it is the most uncomfortable I have so far experienced. Maybe the thought was that it would be always handled with gloves? If any mods are done to the handle the original sheath does not work anymore. I rounded the corners of the finger ring and handle, took some gutted paracord, did a double layer wrap and sent the knife to this maker. The results were good, now the knife is way more comfortable, the sheath works and the SOCP can be put a EDC role. I actually now quite like it.
