EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

But, But aren’t you worried about only have S30V?;)
I can't tell you how many nights that's kept me awake, despite the fact that Shiro does such a great job with all their steels for sharpen ability and edge retention. My NeOn UL is also S30V and my 100NS is 440C, if you can believe it. My knife storage is quite close to my bed and sometimes in the quiet of the night I can hear the low, degrading hum of all three knives losing their edges just sitting in their drawer.

I felt so bad for our friend ChazzyP ChazzyP having to carry an outdated and inadequate blade steel that I went home for lunch to downgrade. I swapped the S35VN super steal I left home with this morning for the embarrassment of S30V to offer my support. I was going to go to BG42 but I carried that hot garbage yesterday.

In all my years acquiring and selling knives I'd never returned a purchase to a dealer, but the Buck 110 Slim Pro TRX was so disappointing that I sent it back to KnifeCenter. It was both slim and lightweight with a decently functioning clip and not unattractive, but way stiffer than my trad 110 and 112, wicked tough to unlock, and even harder to open with its factory thumb studs than my others with their brass aftermarket studs. The coup de grace for the new Buck was when its sharp and uncomfortable opener actually cut my leathery old construction worker's thumb. KnifeCenter's return policy was eminently reasonable, so off it went at a small loss.

As I'd been at KC re my return and had been thinking about picking up a Military 2 for a while--I actually had one one pre-order for a while before I tired of waiting--I figured I'd get the S30V, black G10 model that seemed to be the only one available and outfit it with some nat Micarta scales I'd seen somewhere. I put one in my cart, then discovered there was a CruCarta version available for pre-order which was only a little more expensive and way more attractive to me than the more basic knife, plus it would be considerably less costly in the end, so I switched that out and will see how long it takes for that model to be released.

Anyway, as that knife would be a match for my CruCarta PM2, I pocketed that one this morning.
