EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Today I took a walk along the city border.

I looked at the Obukhov plant.

The oldest steel mill in St. Petersburg. 160 years since its founding.

I looked at the embankment under the ring road.

Tomorrow I'll go check out the park outside the city.

I've been staying on the patriotic side of things the last few days with my knife carry with the approach and multi-day observation of Veterans Day. Thursday I carried the AFCK (Advanced Folding Combat Knife) designed by former Navy Seal Chris Caracci and USA made, though its M390 blade is of foreign origin. Yesterday it was the RHK Skinny Sheepsfoot, also USA made with a CPM20CV blade from a domestic steel manufacturer. Today's carry is a bit of a mixed and somewhat ironic bag with my Al Mar Eagle UltraLight. Certainly Al's military record/service is a big factor here and, while his knives were masterfully manufactured in Seki City, the company he founded was based in Tualatin, Oregon and a great number of his designs were tactically based.

Much respect, thanks, and best wishes to those who served on this Veteran's Day.

What Hinderer is this? I know nothing of the brand but names I hear (Half/Full Track, Eclipse) but am not into framelocks usually, but this blade is just beautiful. Like a little more use-oriented Yojumbo

Thanks. It’s what RHK calls Eklipse Wharncliffe.

This shape only existed in the form of the ZT0392 for many years, but finally made it into a RHK product, about a year ago (?).

A little fiber for Friday.

I don’t know why I keep looking for that next great grail thing, when I’ve had this gorgeous Ochs Worx Solarstorm for the longest time. It’s got my favorite modified wharncliffe blade shape, beautiful blade and handle designs, build and F&F are outstanding, nice snappy flipper action, tight but easy to operate frame lock, it’s sleek but solid, it’s everything I keep saying I’m looking for in my ideal higher-end knife. So it's ‘only’ M390, which is still more blade steel than I’ll ever need. I get it in my head that I need another knife, totally forgetting the nice stuff I already have sitting in the drawer.
