It was a nice day here today--temps just touched 40, no real breeze, and partly sunny. After fighting non-golden Golden Hours this week I managed to go with pics of a grey knife on a grey background late this afternoon. Go figure.
Another Cheburkov today as I run through my 7, this one the Frieze, the name for which none here have been able to come up with a satisfactory explanation. I've posited that architecturally the frieze is a decorative board or band that runs along the top edge of a building's facade and this is indeed an edged tool. That seems more than a little bit of a stretch. Perhaps our erudite Russian friend M maxjeg can come up with something more plausible relative to his native tongue.
Chronovore
also has one of these too, and, while he's expressed his appreciation for the knife, he's also mentioned that he wished it had a snappier detent. I can't argue with that assertion, but I would add that mine is still a dependable flipper that comes out even with an easy light switch with no particular attention to technique.

The nicely matching bead I got from the artsy/craftsy site has beaten up the clip pretty good, but, oddly, it doesn't bother me--I almost kinda like it.

The Frieze has been offered in a number of different iterations, but this knurled model really caught my eye and I ordered directly from Мастерская Чебуркова just days before the sanctions hit and it was no longer possible to send funds to Russia. I was more than a bit nervous as I waited for it's arrival, but oddly it hit our shores in just about a week's time before Fedex spent about as much time driving it around Massachusetts while I spent that week on the phone until a CS agent in Arizona finally made the right connections to get it to me.
But yeah, I find the knurled Ti handle finish both easy in hand and easy on the eyes....

Again, as it's Cheburkov week for me, I'll be posting a few more pics over at the Channel.
