EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Carrying a classic, today.

My CRKT/Lightfoot M1. At the time I bought it, $80 was a lot for me, but I was infatuated with Greg Lightfoot's knives. Comparing it to the price of his customs made it easier to talk myself into, and it checked all the boxes for my late-teens self. I still do like the occasional Oper8tor knife, but I've gone from this to carrying an Alox most of the time.

I was some kind of lucky, because Columbia River had the same inconsistent heat treat back then, but I got a good one! Years after I bought it, I carried this as the first knife when I started a job in aggregates processing. It's cut rope, cardboard, plastic drain hose, conveyor belt skirting, and held an edge far better than anything with an alphabet soup steel would be expected to. It's not pretty, but it's mine, and those $80 were some of the best ones I've ever spent on a knife.
Great post on an awesome knife. I used to carry it more when I spent more time in the field (biologist and hunter), built like a tank and would take a wicked edge. In the classroom now so don’t need something that heavy duty. Would love an updated version with D2 steel, a bit thinner profile, and a ball bearings pivot.

Welcome to Bladeforums, Lance! I'm very humbled that you would choose me of all the disreputable characters here to compliment.

The M1 was a standout offering from CRKT. I don't know if it was just that I lost my taste for their offerings, of if their overall catalogue was never very much to talk about.

It's better than G10. There is a light blast that softens the lines, allowing maximum traction without sharpness. This pattern on the Frieze is probably the best example but I have other knives and titanium doodads that do it. Today's carry was this TwoSun that feels surprisingly wonderful in hand.

BTW, I just realized that you and I have opposite Friezes...

Quiet 🤐 Boujee-ness! Or, Quiet Bluejee-ness! Yeah, I made those up since the "quiet luxury" trend is old.

1) Right is my full custom liner lock called “Conqueror” by renowned maker Michael J. Smith, featuring a Damascus blade with swedge and hand-filed Damascus backspacer by Mike Norris, gorgeous Robert Eggerling fire-blued mosaic Damascus bolsters, and presentation-grade Mother-of-Pearl scales;

2) Next is my Meton Boss worry coin in Zircuti twist;

3) Watch is my Cartier Pasha 41mm automatic;

4) Below is my @bladeandbeam special edition Reylight Pineapple Mini flashlight 🔦 in solid Timascus;

5) On top 🔝 is my @williamhenry_studio Labradorite Retro bracelet in sterling silver with iridescent Labradorite inserts;

6) Left is my Patek Philippe keychain with blue leather coin pocket. I keep a folded-up $20 in it for emergencies.
