EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

I watched a video about using multiple 9V batteries connected to each other to get the voltage needed for anodizing, so wonder if I should try something like that... What did you use for the soaking solution or soaking media to anodize the scale

I use an adjustable power supply through a TSP solution. For many colors the 9V should work, but green doesn't start until 88V or so, and adjustable is pretty necessary for those hues.

Indeed! While it's entirely possible with a bunch of 9v batteries, it's far easier (and safer!) with a decent cc/cv power supply. It's been a while, but I believe I've also use TSP (and also borax? Again it's been a while!) with good results.

Also regarding the earlier comment about not seeing green much: green is more rare because it's a little higher difficulty (ie, requires more voltage). Prep makes a big difference as well for quality and consistency, as I'm sure you know!

Continuing with a couple tidbits, it's good to thoroughly clean the parts with acetone (and use gloves during/after that to prevent hand oils from accumulating) and dip it in Whink as well. I really enjoyed the process and the results, and it's super easy to just Whink it again and retry if you go too far on the color scale. If you read up a bit on what the process actually does to the titanium, it's pretty cool and makes sense how it works (ie, you're basically creating varying thicknesses of oxide layers that refract light differently to create the various colors). It does wear off eventually with use, but you can easily reapply it if you want.

Back on topic! I have my TRM Neutron on me today!

Trying to get this fallen tree turned into kindling so I got a gang of tools today. I dunno why but I feel like my fireplace might get a workout this winter..

Helping me is a CPK Behemoth, CPK HDFK, TRM Atom, and a real nice vintage gransfors double bit I restored into a cruiser.

Oh and my trusty LTT Baretta 92X Compact just in case I need to exercise some rights as well as my glutes (highly unlikely but you never really know lol).

Ya'll have a glorious Monday 🫡
