Having completed my two week Micarta Madness Marathon I figured Ti Tuesday was an appropriate jump-off point. I was gonna go with my recently acquired SHF but decided to pick the Narrows instead as I was planning to head to the PO to pick up the bead that was ordered for the SHF's soon-to-be-tied-up tail. The Benchmade cut off the length of cord for that task and trimmed the tail off when finished.

It's pretty amazing how sturdy this knife is despite its thin slabs being milled out even more deeply than those opposite on its exterior.

The Narrows is less than half as broad as the SHF and it's entirety is not a whole lot bigger than one of the Spartan's slabs. Here's the thick and the thin of it with the two side by side on the bluestone top of our masonry mass wood heater. One of the Benchmade's slabs is less than the un-chamfered portion of one of the Harsey's and about the same as the cross-section of one of the bigger knife's eased edges.

Small Sebenza today for an afternoon of snow clearing. Got somewhere between 10-12ish inches in the system that moved through over the past couple days. The wind helpfully rearranged it into places of varying depth.

One of the downsides of living in the middle of nowhere is that snow clearing duties after such a storm are not trivial. The big tractor mounted snowblower helps, but using a snowblower on a tractor without a cab is... special.

That's a very handsome piece, my friend. Maker, model, and a few deets, please....

Thanks! That's the WE Seer. I got number 35 out of 420 made in this configuration. They made more of the blue and black versions. You can still find them at dealers.

The hand-rubbed satin blade is ground well and slices wonderfully. The action and lock-up were good from the box, and even better with Skiff bearings installed. While I'm partial to "drop shut" action, the relatively light blade here does need a shake to glide home.

The handle ergonomics are excellent with most of the lines and edges nicely rounded. They were almost perfect except the top of the lock bar was just a little bit sharp. (Most people probably wouldn't even notice but I'm a stickler.) So no, that's not snow. I rounded it off! Now it's honestly the most comfortable frame lock I've ever had in my hand. That little blemish was worth it to me and only reinforces its status as a keeper. 😜
