A much anticipated visit from the mail man today and receipt of the ZT 0055 i picked up on the exchange earlier in the week. The knife is a work of art paying tribute to the GTC Airborne custom and the SLT flipper tab system is pretty trick riding on its own set of caged bearing as well. The action is what you expect from ZT with their KVT bearing pivot system and with a 3-3/4" blade she makes a nice thunk when locking up.
here you can see the SLT retracting flipper tab with the GTC logo as well as the blue ano floating Backspacer. With all these features, all the milling on the titanium scales, and the funky compound grind stonewashed blade, its an absolute value IMO at well under two bills retail (i scored an even more amazing deal on it from a forum member i just couldn't pass up) and is much more obtainable for me than Gus's custom which are around 3K although i would love to have one. It might not be the most practical knife but I must say I'm impressed.

Spent the afternoon today using my ZT 0462TAN to turn a terrifying mountain of cardboard boxes and packing material into a tidy truckload of stuff I could take to the recycling center. An upswept tip maybe isn't ideal for this kind of work, but on the other hand this sucker slices like a demon and that splinter-picking tip is great at getting where it needs to go.

This is my first extended use of a knife with KAI's BlackWash coating, and I'm impressed -- I can't even tell the knife has been used. I'm also surprised how well it works as a discreet shorts knife: subtle color scheme, reasonably deep carry, incredibly lightweight, tucks away nicely in-pocket.

After a trade plus cash from another little flurry of sales I've had two new knives in the last couple days, adding this one to the ACE Biblio I posted a few pages back. I'm very pleased with my Old School Tabargan 100NS and stuck it right in my pocket.
