That's the original SERE......Big one too!!!!Sweet Al Mar. Looks very reminiscent of a SERE, but shorter with a differently ground swedge. What model is that?
Wow, that's a lotta handle if that's a 4" blade--that's why I thought it was shorter than the wood handled SERE that I've seen so often. The placement of the Chop logo and the Al Mar name closer to the handle adds to that impression as well. Never seen either in person, though. That's the original SERE......Big one too!!!!. 4" blade I think.....Awesome late 80's early 90's production I believe

Keyopp , your pics are always spectacular. In fact, I’m starting to think you should do an annual “BladeForums” calendar.
We (see what I did there) could bank some serious coin selling them on the forum alone. Toss in some advertising space and a few big-time sponsors…..and we’ll be golden, baby!
Cha-to the frikkin’-ching!!!
But seriously, the photos are always awesome and I enjoy them.
I've never seen that model before. It's interesting. Is that a custom scale?Tomorrow work carry. The firetac is overlooked when people talk Hinderer but it’s so good!View attachment 2513135View attachment 2513136
Its a 4" SERE folder, Chazz. Some of the incarnations had glass-filled nylon scales with the Special Forces Crest on the bolster. Others, were micarta with the blade featuring Al's gold-cartouche. The fixed-blade is a 5th Special Forces [Abn] bowie. The reconstituted Al Mar Knives makes a 40th Anniversary version of this folder, with 3.6" blade.Sweet Al Mar. What is this one? I dig the lines!
Yes it’s 80s carbon from a guy named Karbadize. He does great work. Scales for the firetac are darn near impossible to find.I've never seen that model before. It's interesting. Is that a custom scale?
