EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

My new puppy Buster! He's a registered treeing Feist( squirrel dog) . I lost little Rufus a couple weeks ago, he was 15 years old, he was half Feist and half beagle. Losing him was the hardest thing I've ever went through. I've lost 3 grandparents, and a best friend, loosing Rufus was worse. Getting Buster has helped, but he's a handful, meanest puppy I've ever saw.

Buster may be mean but he may be the cutest little guy I’ve ever seen. Maybe he’ll smooth out with age.

I lost my 18 year old rescue a few months ago. Takes a while to get past losing your partner.

(From a knife standpoint, I have an 0350 in Magnacut that I’m very happy with….appears yours is getting some of the use it was made for.)

I’m so sorry about your loss of Rufus, I’m sure Buster will loosen the pain but never replace him. Have fun with your new friend and riding partner😉.

Sorry for your loss of Rufus. Buster looks like a great puppy. His eyes just scream, love me I am a good boy.

I didn’t think the Military could get any better until I handled this one 😮

You seriously avoided this one all this time? I woulda traded back for my Cruwear Manix lol!
I was playing catch-up here so I wouldn't fall hopelessly behind again as I started doing during b-ball season and saw these posts. It didn't take but that little bit of prompting to get my Fluted Ti Millie out to carry today. I'm another, like our two friends here, that's always loved the Military and I still have three of the original four I've owned, plus I've bought two for one of my sons over the years. It's hard to pick a favorite, as all mine have been quite different, but there's something special about this one. Apart from its great looks, it's not only the smoothest of any knives I've handled but flicks out and closes so easily. My other two Millies are "better" steels, but there's no flies on this one's S30V as it takes and holds a wicked sharp edge.

As an aside, I've got a pre-oder in on the CruCarta Military 2 and will be very pleased when that one finally comes in. I've very comfortable with the original's tip-down-only configuration as it works well for such a long-handled knife, but I really like the compression lock too and also look forward tying on a pull that makes some sense.

Some pics from the wood shop after returning a couple items there on the first of what promises to be several grey, rainy days in a row.....

Sorry for your loss, Zep. My first, all-of-my-own dog was also a Rufus, a Golden Retriever/Irish Setter mix. He went everywhere with me--a constant companion, often in the back of the pick-up or in the cab when it was too cold or wet. He went up North with me for my year away from the Cape in my mid-twenties. He was a job dog and often beat me to the site after I let him out to do his business in the morning. Like you, losing him was harder than anything I ever went through and I couldn't work for a week--I'd just start tearing up on the job and have to leave.

Your new guy will come around and help fill that empty spot in your life and heart and become your new best friend.

Edit: BTW, I "liked" your post, but wish there was a way to use two emoji's there as in 😢 and 🤣.

Sorry to hear about Rufus. :(

That Buster is all kinds of cute though! Milkin’ it with those puppy dog eyes!
