I don't think they have a reputation for being cheap. A bit over the top, "tacticool", and mall ninja perhaps, but I don't think many would argue that they are not well made, sturdy knives.

BTW, I have owned many, and still own a few Cold Steel knives, and I have always thought that they are tough, well built knives. I think the AD15 is the best one they have ever made.
 
Voulanteering at polish pavilion, have some polish roots, but mostly just polish wife and some items. (Sabre says honor and homeland, shirt says welcome)

The knife feels like disposable blade i don't much care about, but it's also excellent. Took lanyard off, it just looks clean without it and matches the two black phones I edc with me. (redundancy / work related :)
