That handle material is called Karelian birch. Its been standard equipment on knives made in Finland and the surrounding area for centuries......

I have a Leuku with a handle like this one, and worry that my hand is gonna slip forward. What do the Finns do when using to guard against that?

I'm not sure what you would be doing with this sort of knife that would cause your hand to slide forward.....
However, a proper handle should have a slight convex shape so its a bit larger in the center. This should keep your hand in place. The wood isn't really slippery either.
As to what the people who designed this type of blade would do- Well, they learned from childhood how to properly use it in a safe manner, and developed sufficient hand strength to do so.

Very well thought out…IMHO. You’ve got me very curious as to what the sheath looks like and what your thoughts are on it.

I gave my one and only Manix 2 to one of my sons a few weeks back. Miss it bad but am so happy that such a great Spydie went to a loved one. Those Malanika scales ??? 🔥🔥🔥 Please tell us what wood the handle scales are made of….Bog Oak, maybe ?
Thanks. Here is original purchase thread.
Think it was a bit discounted because of the black inclusions pieces on the handle.
When you look at it in person you can see 3d effects, it got some depth to it somehow and this plays/moves with the light. For some reason versace head comed to mind when i look at the patterns it's making.

Manix took over the pm2 segment for me. I gave my pm2 to a friend. Its good, its like james bond and manix is like rambo.
Manix mostly won because of 15v and how I'm found of the maker who I been following from way back before he started making knives. He subscribed to my youtube channel. Not really a channel just personal account, but i have 3 subscribers now with Sean being one. Woot :)
