EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Reward to myself for career milestone in 2014. Carried, used, sharpened, used, etc. I only have this one TB knife, but it is such a great knife. So well done, fit/finish, walk/talk, takes a great edge, etc. I'm 63 and this is a "type"/pattern knife my grandfather, uncles, etc. would have when I was a boy/young man, and I really appreciate the "traditional" folder. Shame, I don't know that when I'm gone anyone I would leave it to would appreciate it.
God bless and best regards

Yes, that trapper is definitely a popular old school pattern. It's one of my favorite traditional knife patterns, along with the mountain man lockback style which is really not that much different. GEC makes several sizes of that pattern (23, 42, 72, 83 if I remember right) but I don't know the numbers of the trapper that's very similar offhand.

Hope you keep enjoying it for a long time!

Still carrying my AD20s today but now with a sharp edge 🫣
Suprizingly though since I’ve had a few Demkos imports and USA made like this one and they’ve all been hair popping and Razor Sharp out of the box this one wasn’t . It’s funny when I ran my finger over the edge it felt like it wanted to cut me or ran it down the ole finger nail trick and felt no burrs it felt good and looked good visually. But last night I went to open a envelope and it wanted to tear it open 😳
I was kind of shocked so I pulled out some receipt paper and tried to push cut and it was like hitting a wall lol not good nor could it even draw cut even going from receipt paper to standard paper . Obviously it wasn’t hair popping sharp but I thought I’d try that and all it did was comb my hair🤣
So then the decision dilemma do I pull out the heavy artillery my Edge pro or take baby steps and try using my leather strop with some black and then green compound . Well since there was no burrs I could feel or see with the naked eye and didn’t feel it needed Re-profiling . I decided on the sharp maker then use my leather strop. Well surprisingly the sharp maker didn’t bring it back right away and took some work even after my leather strop it was sharp but not to my liking. So I repeated the process then ended with my ceramic rod doing it freehand and bam !! The edge came back and able to make S cuts now and push cut and pretty much all the things you’d like a knife to do. Glad I didn’t have to pull out the edge pro for a new knife 👍🏻 Love this knife and I knew the edge would come back but still a little shocked it came this dull and it was clearly a new knife with oil still on the blade with that puppy breath and new knife smell 😆
Guess this one slipped through the cracks at Demko but these things can happen and I understand . Fortunately it’s a great example other then being dull previously 👍🏻👊🏻

Haha very true. Just goes bang. Also with the price of ammo (and everything else) I don’t get out as much.
No doubt with just a few boxes of ammo and range time your just under a 100 bucks . I miss being able to head out to the woods right around the corner from my house to shoot .
Small price to pay for living on the coast now I guess .

Given my penchant for South African knives and makers, this WE “Swordfin” designed by Thys Meades was something I couldn’t resist. Overall a really nice knife, and while I typically have minor issues acclimating to thumb-studs, this one just flies open for me….which is always a pleasant bonus.
