EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Fresh edges today on both my K390 Stretch and Delica. This Delica is ground very thin, and in fact if I recall correctly the Stretch measured about .020" behind the edge before reprofiling. Wish I'd have measured the Delica, it is delightfully thin. They are both in pocket. The Stretch is one I have not carried enough for the past year or two, it is definitely one of my favorite Spydies. I bought a Stretch back when they first released an FRN version (before the Stretch 2) and it was my primary folding knife for a few years, back in a time where I was not active on forums. It was actually the Spydie that replaced my first one, a stainless handle Delica.

I spent some time today breaking down and re-lubing the Russian Dr Death as I noticed recently that its action seemed slow and somewhat uncertain. I figured it had built up a bit of pocket lint and dust at the pivot, but it was considerably cleaner than I'd expected when I got it apart. I've always used W10 NanoOil in it to good effect, as with most all my knives, but even when apart the bearing cages moved sluggishly in their recesses. I pulled out all the pivot components--28 roller bearings, their cages and underlay washers, male and female pivot--soaked everything in isopropyl, wiping all of that down plus cleaning all the contact surfaces with alcohol as well. Re-assembling, I set about re-installing all those tiny rollers, re-lubing sparingly and more lightly with W5 Nano this time. It's even a more tedious and exacting process than putting back loose BB's and requires patience and a relaxed attitude--an almost Zen-like thing.

This one has never been a snappy flipper, but it comes out smoothly with a slightly loaded-up light switch technique and there's so much else to like and lots of fine detailing...opposing handle holes and interior milling...

...along with silk milling of both the Ti and CF.

...and with a similarly ground but almost 100 mm blade in such a slim, tight and light frame this one always bring to mind my 94(3)-1 CF Franken as another that packs a lotta knife in a very compact and pocket friendly package.
