EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

I moved over from my Spydies to the Benchmade stash and grabbed the 806-1101 for a relaxing day at home, watching USA v S. Sudan b-ball followed by the Red Sox/Mariners series finale. I got some shots of the AFCK along the way while wandering around the yard waiting for the oven to pre-heat before popping our supper in.

Finally got a ZT 0640. Pretty sweet knife and smooth. Thanks a lot you enablers haha…. 😜

Now time to start upgrading the scales, clip, thumb disc, and maybe some Ti screws.

You are dealing with the best enablers known to mankind and mankind alike here 😆
I’m guilty of being on both sides of the enabler fence and proud of it 🤣
Nice ZT you got me interested 😳😆

The knife that started it all for me was an original AFCK. I was a certified climbing instructor back in the early 1990's, and one day at the climbing gym another instructor pulled out her large AFCK (in ATS-34 w/ G-10 handle scales and a liner lock, IIRC) and handed it to me. That was it... I was hooked. Yours is one of the most stunning examples I've seen. Thank you for posting!

Thanks so much for your appreciation. The 1101 was a grail for me and I only picked it up in the past year. I paid waaaay too much for it, but it was BNIB and something of a unicorn as it was the only one of that run of 400 with uncoated G10 scales, sent to Knifeworks along with two other examples--one coated and the other with a different pattern of smooth blue/black scales--for approval. I feel very lucky to have it, but it's too great a knife to sit in a drawer and gets carried and used.

I've got two other AFCKs--an 800 like the one you described and an 806 in D2 with a black blade, both plain edge. The former is a user and the latter is still like new as I have this thing about marking up black blades. That's why I like black-wash and battle black finishes. I also have a plain edge 805 TSEK in 440C that's a work user. All great knives and all within the realm of the classic BMKs that I much prefer to most of the newer models.

Did you give the other instructor back her knife or acquire more like hers or other models?

🥵 Some Beautiful Stag Brother !!
Thanks, Factor! I got the luck-of-the-draw, when I ordered-it over a decade ago. The newer Boker Camp Knife in stag is now fetching over $300 USD [Yikes!]. They've essentially doubled in price. Almost everything coming-out of the Solingen factory is pricey. They have a large Boy Scout model with Mammoth-tooth inserts for $500 bucks. Nothing quite like a classic. My Camp Knife sees EDC-duty on a regular rotation. Still, and all I might have to pick-up a newer-version, and take-the-pain. Although the newer jacks, don't feature the 'classic' bark stag like my folder does. The Boker German quality is still evident, and awesome!

She let me use hers for the day, just to see if I thought it was worth the price. It was a lot of money for me back then, but I ended up getting two of the G-10 versions, and then two of the polymer handle versions in ATS-34. I can't remember what those were called, but they were the predecessor to the Pika models. Of those four originals that I bought back then, this is the only one I still have in my collection (circa 1995/96):
