The second half of Friday was wonderful. My daughter and I drove along the coast of the Gulf of Finland on the Baltic Sea, on the border with Finland.
We looked at the chapel of St. Nicholas.
We crossed the Mannerheim Line. This is the main line of defense of Finland against the USSR in the Winter War.
We looked at the church that was built here in 1904, during the time of Emperor Nicholas II.
The evening ended with dinner on the shore.

Because this ^ was on page 6798, and you had the duplicate post on page 6799 where I could not see it, my first thought was, "How does he know I have DoubleTap Ammo in that 357 Magnum?

Nah!!! Had it for a.good bit......Its quite beaten up.......It was used as a throwing knife a few times and worked more like a Friggin boomerang

The Winter War was truly terrible. The Soviet Union lost 125,000 people, Finland 27,000. The Finns created a magnificent defense and were able to hold out for almost four months. The rows of "dragon's teeth" stretching into the distance are very impressive.
My daughter and I are going to visit the central part of the Mannerheim Line next weekend. There are "million-dollar" pillboxes there. Each one cost the Finns one million Finnish marks to build. I will try to take some interesting photos.

Interesting group this morning James. Of the years I've seen your posts, I do not think I have ever seen you show any of these. The bottom one would be quite the shank!

Love the pic. How does Maxamet and 15V compare to S110V as far as edge retention?Today I was craving inhuman levels of edge retention.
It comes out to play a few times a year..... I've definitely posted it before because someone, Chip I believe commented on the stag....Usually they came with that black soft rubbery stuff........ Its a cool piece that's been abused a we bit..
The shootout is my usual PJ blade and I just.got the Otter.....

Here's my anecdotal experience... for pure slicing edge retention both 15V and Maxamet are pretty crazy good. S110V does very well also, though Maxamet and 15V are definitely top tier for me.
My favorite of the three is definitely 15V, edges behave quite well and the sharpening experience is so good. Works surprisingly quickly on diamond stones, deburrs easily, and comes up silly sharp. Maxamet and S110V will also get very sharp but they require more skill and effort.
