EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

On the seventh day, I rest...

Summer's end came sooner than we wanted, but the first day of fall was a glorious one here nonetheless.

Started off watching the sun come up over the mountains out front; carrying the CRU-tuff Manix, Case Swayback, and Vic Compact

For my second cup of coffee, I decided on a whim to use the camp pour-over. I'm usually not one for sweets, but I just can't resist taro, and my kiddo brought me a mochi donut so how could I refuse 😋

hard to beat classic tunes on vintage Hi-Fi. It's always full of music in our house, but particularly on Sundays

Changed pants to head to the hardware store so I switched, but kept it a Manix Sunday

Hit a pop-up food truck event up the street. Grabbed some asada tacos and pork dumplings. Came home and put the Victorinox Winemaster to use

Now I'm about to walk the pup and watch the sun set on the same mountains:cool:

La vida mas fina

I couldn't have been more wrong about that tree that we took off my my son's shed roof. It had been dead some time before it became uprooted and fell. After a year or so it was barkless, bleached out to a light gray, with all it's smaller limbs and branchlets gone. He has a mix of mature hard and soft woods at the deep back of his yard that's old farmland, but shallow-rooted locust is fairly prevalent here and he's had a couple down come similarly. I really didn't pay any attention to my chips when sectioning and bucking on those hot days in the tall grass and brush and it was only today when we began splitting, after the rain finally stopped here, that it became obvious that we had a haul of red oak. Duh.

On another note, my order from the Big River Site arrived yesterday and I was able to vent all my remaining large gas cans and rid them of those stupid slow and awkward spring loaded spouts.

Quite a weekend. Plenty of bike riding, went fishing with family, and had a surprise birthday party for Dad (extra special since he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in February and we weren't sure he'd make it this far... he's doing pretty well currently all things considered). Didn't stop for knife pictures, but my usual Sebenza was with me.

The sunset tonight as I left the birthday party was spectacular... good way to send off the weekend.
