Hmmm, that's a good question. Honestly, I don't know where they came from. I bought the knife used probably a year and a half ago and those came with it. I actually bought another pair of linen micarta scales for it (the reddish ones were made by TRM) and couldn't decide which ones I liked best, so I have different scales on each side of the knife. 😂 I have seen a few other Neutrons posted with similar scales, and different color schemes though, so I know they're not a one-off.

Happy weekend to ya! Yesterday this is what I carried. I went outside to feed the birds like I do everyday (they're a lot of work to by the way: Filling the bird feeder right when I get home from work [or else they'll be outside watching me eat dinner making me feel like crap, so I have to feed them first])... Keeping the Hummingbird feeder full (they don't seem to like the premade hummingbird food, so I make them a 4:1 ratio of some organic raw sugar bullcrap 😂)... Plus rinsing out their bird bath (because it has a leak and only lasts 1 day, and I'm too cheap on anything but knives to buy a new one). All combined, they're a lot of work when ya just want to get home and relax, but... The lil bastards are worth it. 🐤🐦🦃 (Sorry, my rant on the birds is over, I just had to get it out 😅)

I noticed that a branch had broken off of one on my 2 Raspberry bushes, probably a dear, so I tried giving it new life by cutting the bottom and planting it next to the others. I'm not sure if that works or not, but we'll see.

My understanding is that it was originally part of the design on these “Cotton Sampler” knives to help test the quality of the cotton plug that the knife cut, providing a place to roll the cotton fibers after cutting into a bale.

For my uses, it works as a finger choil to choke up on the blade.
