I hope you'll be as happy with your new hip as I am with mine, now almost six years in. What you'll feel as you heal is just pain the from the surgery, but I noticed very quickly that all that grinding, discomfort, and lack of function I'd had with the bad hip were gone. Keep up with your rehab and watch out for bad winter footing while you recover, but good on you for getting it done, Woody.
