EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Read and imagine that David Attenborogh is narrating.😆

This hardly seen and ever elusive species of Inkosi, was photographed siting on a ledge.

From its magnacut blade and frame lock, to its Millit pocket clip. This amazing species of the CRK breed is captured in all its glory.

The full Ti, Mike Irie, hollow ground, magnacut, TRM Atom was my choice for Church EDC this AM. Pastor used a box full of his father‘s pocket knife’s as part of the sermon. We had a nice visit after church about his father‘s collection. God bless

Came so close to picking one up in that config at the show. Went with another. Wish I would have just bought both. lol

How do you like it?

Already swapped once this morning. Got up just before sunrise but there was no sun to be found this gray PNW morning. My original carry matched the vibe, but I decided to switch it to something more characteristic. No plans for now, just takin' it E-Z like Sunday morning.

(Note: the date is wrong because vintage Timex is a PITA to set)

It’s great. Blade is probably the sharpest out of the box I’ve ever had. The full Ti gives it great weight. So glad I got it before they went back to the original stud design. This was a short run, so kind of rare. I’ve got a neutron that is an almost identical but smaller twin. Blade shape on these is super cool. It’s definitely a keeper.

I understand the gray morning. Had several of them lately.
Now I have a song stuck in my head.

This just came in yesterday and I've been messing around with it since! A Clyde Challenor Viper. A fantastic custom from a maker who really flies under the radar, although he doesn't make very many knives. I got real lucky with this one. He does everything in house including heat treatment. He's really big on the heat treatment. He heat treats the blade blank before doing any grinding at all. So after heat treat he mills the bearing pockets and grinds the whole primary bevel, whereas most makers (at least from my understanding) do the rough grinding of the primary bevel and then afterward heat treat it. I think this creates a more even heat treat throughout the blade (as long as you're able to keep the blade cool while grinding) instead of the thinner areas getting hotter in the oven. However I'm far from an expert in heat treating as you can see, and there's nothing wrong with makers who do it the other way, it's just cool to see how he puts so much effort into getting the most out of the steel.
