The original Stanley 99 utility knife was introduced in 1952, and was Stanley's first retractable utility knife. It featuring a die-cast metal body and a three-position retractable blade, with a super organic profile that is as easy to look at as it is to hold. I feed mine with carbide blades for longer life. After an extended move from our old house to a new house, and the piles of cardboard I've had to dissect in the process, the 99 decided to just continue living in my pocket. Today's 99E version is still available at big box stores, and has changed very little in the intervening 73 years. But if you want to do it right, go with the original 99 for the stories it will tell you.
Cool blade and history snippet. 😁👍

One of my favorite pickups from the Toronto Knife Show. This was made by a young maker from Toronto. He has some serious skill!

Pop that center pin and the whole knife breaks down. It’s a really cool piece that I’m happy I picked up.

Maker is Cole Thompson.
