Getting around to setting up my stereo after getting new carpet. Decided to finally set up my reel to reel, Teac A 4010SL I paid 149 dollars for, yes found receipt, after at least 25 years since last used. The Spydie in Cru Wear is new and first in that steel. Did not have to use the knife as drive belt was already in pieces....(knife caused to harm to audio equipment...disclaimer). So just ordered new belts and a service manual....did have the owners manual but need more info. I loaded tape No 31 onto reel to reel to kick the tires, only to discover the broken belt...sad. Interesting though the tape was recorded in 1973 per my label. Hope the belt and some lube will be the only issue.
Picture was taken in process of taking off the metal cover....cover came off and immediately found the pieces of the belt.
