Just curious, what were you doing with the knife when this happened? I’m guessing that you will, or have contacted Cold Steel. Please keep us posted on how they handle the situation.

Just sitting on the couch opening and closing it slowly with two hands while reading a book.

Put on the warranty request last night. I'll update as it goes

Thanks my friend. That one was made by Landi. He was a Bladeforums maker who was on the forums for many years. Made some pretty cool fixed blades. Not sure what ever happened to him.

It certainly looks like a useful design

The Russian knife company Saro patented a new lock this winter.

It's called a click-lock. The ball on the blade's rocker snaps into special notches in the knife handle.

Only two models of knives have been released so far. I bought one knife today.
